Documents required for Japan Tourist Visa

  1. A valid Passport (with more than two blank pages). Please submit your old passports also, if any.
  2. A completely filled and signed Visa Application Form.
  3. Covering letter stating the purpose of visit and day to day details (If owner of company, Covering letter

should be on Company Letter head)

  1. Detailed day wise Itinerary
  2. One photograph taken within the last 6 months. (The photograph should be of size 2 x 2 inches, color with

white background and printed on good quality paper)

  1. Flight Tickets and Hotel booking
  2. Personal bank statements of last three months with sign and stamp by the bank on each and every page
  3. Last 2 year IT Return
  4. If the applicant is employed
  5. Leave sanctioned letter on company letter head with sign and stamp by the employer and salary slip last three months
  6. If owner, Proof of ownership
  7. If the applicant is Student / Dependent
  8. Consent from the parents / spouse
  9. Copy bank statement of last three months for parents / spouse
  10. Student Identity Card copy
  11. Proof of Relationship, in case the applicant is accompanied by any dependent, i.e., Marriage Certificate,

Basic Requirements to visit Japan

        • Have a valid Passport and valid Japan Visa;
        • Be in good health;
      • Good moral character;
      • Be able to convince the immigration officer that you have your family, property, assets, etc. that would serve as an incentive to come back to your home country;
      • Be able to convince the immigration officer that you will leave the country before your Japan visa expires;
      • Have sufficient funds to support yourself and the amount depends on how long you will stay in Japan and whether you will be staying with family, friends or any paid accommodation.

      • Confirmed return Ticket;
      • Contact details of your relative, friends or business contact in Japan;
      • Confirmed hotel bookings (If Any);
      • Japan country Currency and other forms of forex;
      • An unlocked smartphone, preferable with a Sim card from India;
      • Any additional documents required to prove your purpose of visit (especially if you are travelling on a business Visa).

What to do when you arrive in Japan

    • Keep your Declaration form in hand (provided to you on the flight);
  • Keep all travel documents (passport, valid Japan Visa, return ticket, hotel bookings etc.) ready in case the immigration officer asks to produce any document;
  • If you are an unaccompanied minor, make sure you stay with the flight attendant who is in charge of your safety. Additionally, you must recognise the adult picking you up at the airport. If you have any doubts, you must inform the airline staff immediately.
